Mommy and Me Springtime Mustard Session

It actually took me quite a while to pinpoint what mustard field I wanted to use for this springtime family photo shoot, but I went with a spot in Santa Rosa, CA. For many families, a full-hour shoot can seem pretty long but in fact it actually creates a loose and relaxed environment that allows you to react authentically with your family and let kids be themselves. THere is a lot of playtime that goes into these shoots and sometimes it feels like wrangling cats but the flip side is that there’s not a lot of pressure to get that “perfect shot” in a limited amount of time. Trust me, “the good one” eventually happens with some light coaching, but you don’t want the family session to feel like torture for your kids! A family photo session should be an equally enjoyable experience for everyone and when you allow them to be themselves, that’s when the magic happens.
