Sonoma County Sister Shoot

IMG_1639.jpg

So many people are jumping at the opportunity to take COVID family portraits because they won’t be seeing their family in-person this year. Meeting somewhere like a Sonoma County Reginal Park is a safe and beautiful way to shoot COVID photos and stay at a distance. Honestly, I almost ALWAYS shoot outside but I have to throw in that kind of stuff for my SEO. (I have no idea what I’m doing, if you’re local to Sonoma County I’d love your input if you’re an SEO guru, let’s talk). Nikki came to me as a corporate client a few months back so I was pumped to work with her again when she wanted me to take pictures of her gorgeous girls!! We met for a golden hour shoot at one of my go-to locations, Crane Creek Regional Park in Santa Rosa. I’m down to travel anywhere but the stunning sunsets, rolling hills and convenient location make Crane Creek a photographer favorite for obvious reasons. Often when I do family sessions it includes parents with kiddos but I have to say it was a real treat to just focus on the relationship between two sisters. Both girls felt so special to have a shoot completely devoted to them. I’m seriously so jealous, my baby sister is now 27 and looking back, our family NEVER took family photos. As she takes off for Berlin next month I’m thinking, “damn, I really wish we had done that!!” but of course with not being able to mix households right now I have to stand too far away to get some cute pics. I’ll have to wait until she comes home for a visit. As a photographer, it’s kind of my job to tell you how important it is to set aside time for REAL professional photos with your family but as a person who doesn’t have any I can tell you that I really wish I had some. (It’s nice to have something that’s a step up from your low-res, “kinda OK” cell-phone picture when it comes to displaying something on a wall or in an album).
