Healdsburg Maternity Photos
This last-minute maternity session at Riverfront Regional Park actually started with a call from Single Thread Farms Inn located in downtown Healdsburg. Well actually it started when Single Thread Farms called my colleague, Krista Kendall Photography but she was busy so she recommended me which is why I highly encourage building strong and POSITIVE relationships with other people in your industry. Aside from being an inspiration and support system, it inevitably results in more success for everyone. (We say “soloprenuer” but I don’t think we are ever truly doing this alone).
Single Thread Farms had a couple visiting from the Bay Area looking for maternity photos here in Sonoma County and reached me to set-up a session. I’m completely blown away by the customer service at Single Thread Farms, by the way. They took the time to not only recommend, but actually contact a local photographer for their guests that was actually available before providing them with contact info, amazing.
After crowd-sourcing props via my life-line (Facebook) I actually just ended up buying these super-cute baby booties from Target. Folks, if you’re wanting props in your session and are too busy to pick them up or just don’t want to, I will do it for you, it’s fun, it’s part of my job! I’ll warn you that the options do become limited depending on the amount of advanced notice I receive but I will always do my best. Originally I wanted to shoot at Dragonfly Floral School in Healdsburg because it was so beautiful the last time I had visited to shoot for Sonoma Discoveries Magazine. Dragonfly was helpful and accommodating but reminded me that late fall wasn’t the most flattering time of year for flower farms and I had to agree so I opted for Riverfront Regional Park instead. I shot the wedding photography for my friend’s wedding at Riverfront Regional Park and it’s absolutely stunning…
Typically most of my photography clients are people I have met before and I always get nervous shuffling around in a parking lot trying to identify someone from a microscopic email thumbnail but we found each other easily. I think I waved at the wrong person once on the street when I was 5 and now I get super nervous every time I need to meet a new people somewhere. Anyhow, we had no problem finding each other, the shoot was fantastic and Dragonfly Floral Farm still made an appearance! Pranjal brought a beautiful, fresh, hand-made botanical crown with her, crafted at Dragonfly Floral and it was the perfect accent to her green gown.
