Inverness Engagement Shoot

It was a crazy time of year when we shot these engagement photos at the Cypress Tree Tunnel in Inverness, CA. Katy and Bill had this super cool idea of bringing a vintage velvet couch as a prop and we were all looking forward to the shoot but fire season was starting, some people had last power while others were preparing to evacuate. We were waiting to see if it would even be safe to continue with the shoot but we were able to sneak out there just in time. The sense of impending doom probably attributed to the diminished masses at the Cypress Tree Tunnel so it kind of worked in our favor and there was plenty of room for the couch and for Bill and Katy’s elegant attire. I stepped it up a little toward the end of the shoot with some off-camera flash so that I could illuminate the couple against the pink sky.
