Soft vineyard light, cultural connections, and one super-sweet couple. This California vineyard wedding is bursting with heartfelt moments and dreamy details.
When Eleni and Steven tied the knot at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol, the result was a beautiful blend of family, culture, and genuine connection. As a Sonoma County wedding photographer, I’ve seen all kinds of celebrations, but this one was the perfect mix of sweet, soulful, and joyful.
How Eleni and Steven Met and Their Wedding Day Connection
Eleni and Steven met in college at Cal Poly, and you could feel the years of love and comfort they’ve built together. On the wedding day, Eleni started out a little stressed (what bride doesn’t?), but once she slipped into her gown and especially after the ceremony, you could literally see her glow. The way Steven held her hand, kissed it, and exchanged those soft glances throughout the day felt like watching two best friends who are also totally in love.
Cultural Wedding Traditions at Vine Hill House
One of the most special parts of this day was how it honored so many different backgrounds. From Greek circle dancing at the reception to monogrammed chopsticks as wedding favors, Eleni and Steven found personal ways to celebrate their heritage. Their guest list included family from Greek, Cajun, and Chinese backgrounds, which made the entire event feel like a love-filled reunion.
And yes, the cats made an appearance! These two are proud cat parents, and while their fur babies couldn’t attend in person, they made adorable cardboard cutout appearances at the reception and played with the groomsmen during getting ready. It was the cutest little touch that showed how much thought went into making the day feel like them.

Heartfelt and Candid Wedding Moments in Sonoma County
The first dance was a hypnotic acoustic indie version of the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place.” As the sun dipped below the hills of Wine Country, these two swayed gently, wrapped in each other’s arms, looking like something out of a dream.
Some of my favorite moments to capture:
- Eleni glowing in the sun as her bridesmaids adjusted her dress. The veil and light made her truly look ethereal
- The mother-of-the-bride tearing up during the ceremony while hugging Steven
- The dance floor exploding with energy during the Greek dancing
- Steven lending Eleni his jacket during sunset photos. A completely candid, heartfelt moment

And the setting? Unreal. Vine Hill House overlooks the rolling hills of Sonoma County and it truly gives that California vineyard wedding magic. Elegant yet relaxed, luxurious but totally grounded.
