If you’re getting married in Mendocino,

You’re not planning a ballroom wedding.

You’re not here for stiff poses or a perfectly curated production.

And you probably care more about how your day feels than how it looks on a Pinterest board.

Good. Same.

I already know a few things about you.

Mendocino weddings hit different.

You bring the fog, the cliffs, the redwoods—I’ll bring the camera.

The fog rolls in when it wants.
The wind does its own thing.
The light goes from soft and diffused to wildly dramatic in about five minutes.
And honestly? That’s the magic.
This place doesn’t need to be styled within an inch of its life. It just shows up—and if you let it, your wedding will too.

All are welcome here.

All love, all bodies, all kinds of families — come as you are. I’ll meet you there.

My approach:

I’m not going to over-direct you or turn your wedding into a content shoot.

But I’m also not standing in the corner hoping something interesting happens.

I’m paying attention. Anticipating. Stepping in when I need to and backing off to allow the in-between moments to unfold naturally.

So you get photos that feel like:
  • you were actually there
  • your people were fully themselves
  • nothing was forced or over-performed

documentary, but not detached

Mendocino venues I know (and love)

This isn’t theoretical—I’ve worked in these spaces, in this light, in this chaos.

Mendocino Woodlands

Summer camp energy in the best way. Redwoods, cabins, and full weekend weddings that feel like an experience—not just an event.

River’s Bend Retreat Center

Tucked into the trees along the Navarro River—quiet, immersive, and perfect for retreat-style weddings.

Holly’s Ocean Meadow

Located on Fort Bragg, this spot provides open coastal meadow + ocean views = wildly beautiful without trying too hard.

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse

Iconic, windy, and cinematic in all the right ways.

Gualala Art Center

Creative, grounded, and surrounded by redwoods

The Driftwood Lodge

Intimate, coastal, and easy to settle into

Not quite Mendocino but, close enough:

These last two deserve honorable mentions, technically Sonoma County but Right on the edge of Mendocino County and very much part of the scene—perfect for intimate, coastal weddings with a slower pace.

If you’re planning a full weekend with your people—cabins, shared meals, late-night hangs, slow mornings—I’m all in.

Those in-between moments? That’s the story.

Not just the ceremony. Not just the portraits. The whole experience.

Retreat-style weddings are kinda my thing...

Mendocino weddings

Check out these real

Holly’s Ocean Meadow

This one felt like Mendocino doing what it does best—a cool, foggy morning, a sunny golden hour, and absolutely stunning. Bright color, ocean air, and a day that unfolded exactly how it wanted to. Nothing stiff, nothing over-managed—just people fully in it.

Fog, color, and zero restraint

Mendocino Woodlands

A full weekend tucked into the redwoods with cabins, shared meals, and that nostalgic, slightly chaotic summer camp vibe. The kind of wedding where everyone settles in, lets their guard down, and the moments just keep happening.

Summer camp energy in the best way

Gualala Coast

Small guest list, big atmosphere. A ceremony and reception nestled in the redwoods, windy sunset photos in Fort Bragg soft light, and that slower, more intentional pace that Mendocino does so well. The kind of wedding where every person there really matters.

Intimate, a little moody, and wildly beautiful

Driftwood Lodge

A slower kind of wedding day—ocean air, no rush, no pressure to perform. Just people fully present, letting the day unfold as it wanted to, with the coast doing most of the heavy lifting.

Slow, coastal, and effortlessly intimate

"Loren's  documentary style is wonderfully raw and emotional, and we are so grateful to have had her as a photographer for such an important day in our lives. She was everywhere, bouncing around our chaos and was able to capture the most beautiful and very silly moments of our friends and family helping everything come together."

- Shea G. (Wedding Client)

"wonderfully raw and emotional"

“Loren is so friendly with a sense of humor that always puts you at ease. [Our wedding photos] were not only beautiful, but captured the essence of the love, joy, and celebration that we and our guests felt that day.”

- Micah P. (Wedding Client)

"a sense of humor that always puts you at ease"

“Loren is one of the best photographers I have ever met. She is so easy to work with, she’s generous, she cares and she becomes a friend.”

- Claire B. (Portrait Client)

"one of the best photographers I have ever met."

A few things about getting married in Mendocino:

  • The weather does what it wants (plan for it, embrace it)
  • Timelines should stay flexible—this isn’t a rigid place
  • Golden hour can be subtle here, but when it hits… it hits

You don’t need to perform.
You don’t need to make it perfect.
You just need to show up.
I’ll take care of the rest.

If this sounds like your kind of wedding, let’s talk!
