If you’re dreaming of a vibrant summer wedding that blends garden party vibes with golden hour magic, let’s talk about Flying Cloud Farm in Petaluma, CA. This venue is seriously one of my favorites for couples who want a warm, welcoming setting that feels both elevated and relaxed.
And Jocelyn & Tim’s wedding day? It was a glowing example of what makes this Sonoma County wedding venue so very special.

A Love Story with Online Beginnings and Poker Night Cameos
During COVID, Tim and his friends would host online poker nights, and Jocelyn would pop up in the background. Over time, she became part of the crew before they’d even met her in person. One of Tim’s friends even mentioned this during the wedding and I just loved that little peek into how their worlds quietly blended together before becoming one.
As a couple, Jocelyn and Tim complement each other so beautifully. She’s outgoing, bubbly, and magnetic, always lighting up every room she walks into. Tim is more reserved, but you can tell he adores her energy. Throughout the day, they shared silly faces, inside jokes and so much laughter. You could feel how comfortable and playful they are together.

Ceremony Moments That Made Everyone Tear Up
One of the standout moments from their wedding ceremony was when Tim’s dad recited an original poem he had written just for them. Not only was it heartfelt and beautifully written, it was memorized. You could tell how proud he was and it added such a personal, emotional layer to the ceremony.
The entire day had that kind of vibe: meaningful, fun, and full of thoughtful little touches.

Flying Cloud Farm: A Sonoma County Wedding Venue That Shines in Every Season
I’ve photographed weddings at Flying Cloud Farm in both winter and summer and I am always impressed with how versatile this venue is. For Jocelyn and Tim’s wedding, we were blessed with perfect garden party weather, so the outdoor ceremony and reception really got to shine.
But even in cooler months, this Petaluma wedding venue has you covered (literally). With indoor spaces that work beautifully for cocktail hour and dinner, and a charming covered barn-style area for larger guest counts, Flying Cloud flexes to meet the season and the moment.

Bonus love note: It’s a family-owned property run by Julia, the second-generation owner and on-site wedding planner. She’s kind, professional, and clearly pours so much intention into the way this space is cared for. Also, can we talk about the recently renovated bridal suite? Bright white walls, gorgeous natural light and a mirror that’s basically made for getting ready photos. Obsessed.
Candid Moments + Golden Hour Glow
My favorite part of the day? The table visits. I know that might sound random, but golden hour hit just right while Jocelyn and Tim were mingling with guests. The light was soft and warm, and the candid moments during that time were absolutely beautiful. While we didn’t get quite as much golden hour portrait time with just the couple, the light was so good it only took a few minutes to get dreamy, glowing images.

Other favorites:
- All the sequins and bright colors worn by guests. This group showed up in full celebration mode!
- The dancing and energy between old friends who clearly go way back.
- How happy Jocelyn looked, fully in her element, twirling in the garden like the main character she is.
